to attend Project Graduation!!!
Make plans now to attend Project Graduation 2009. Sign-ups begin May 4, 2009 and will end on May 13, 2009. Tickets can be purchased for the small fee of $10.00 in the Principal’s Office. The celebration will be held immediately following graduation on Saturday, May 23. Graduates will board buses and travel to the Recreation Center at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. They will spend the entire night enjoying the facilities. Graduates will have the opportunity to swim, play basketball, volleyball, rock climb, racquetball, karaoke and participate in other inflatable games such as human foosball, and obstacle courses. There will also be food and prizes.
Project Graduation is not a school-sponsored event but is organized by parents of senior students in order to provide a safe, chaperoned and substance abuse-free graduation celebration. Parents of senior students are busy organizing the event which is entirely dependent upon fund raisers, donations and contributions. If any parents would be willing to chaperone the event, please contact Mr. Daniels at 246-5914.
Anyone wishing to make donations to Project Graduation may send a check made payable to: Project Graduation 2009 and forwarded to Ron Daniels, c/o MVTHS, 320 S. 7th St., Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
