Art Students Earn Awards from the Scholastic Art Awards Competition

The Art department recently had five students receive art awards from the Scholastic Art Awards Competition.  The students and their awards are:    Hailey Beal- Gold Key Keila Stumbaugh- Gold Key and American Vision Vernoica Justice- Gold Key Kirstin McGowen- Silver Key Casey Southers- Certificate   Gold Key winners get to have their work sent to New York for the national competition. 2012 FBLA Regional Conference

MT. VERNON TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL FBLA WINS AT AREA CONFERENCE The Illinois Future Business Leaders of America Southern Area Conference was held at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, with over 630 advisers, members, and guests registered from 18 area schools.  The theme of the conference was "FBLA:  Gateway to Greatness." Join us for the 3rd annual Mt. Vernon Softball Trivia Night Fundraiser Saturday, February 25, 2012. The softball team is raising money to help in the continuation of creating a permanent home for themselves.  This fundraiser will help aid in the renovations that are taking place at Lincoln Park.  Along with a fun-filled night of trivia, participants can look forward to several other games in between rounds and 50/50 drawings.   Everyone will walk out with a prize!
