Take the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics!

by: Amanda Chambliss

December 04, 2009

Plungers raise at least $75 in donations from friends, family, and co-workers in exchange for jumping into the icy waters in the middle of winter!  Each plunger receives a Polar Plunge sweatshirt and entrance into the Post-Plunge Party, plus the chance to win additional prizes for raising more money.  There will be door prizes at the party.  Also; costumes are encouraged and awarded!! For more information, find Mr. Shockley, Mrs. Talley, Sgt. Hawkins, or Mrs. Clodi.

If you are too chicken to plunge, you can “Fly the Coop for Special Olympics” instead.  “Chickens” are locked up in the chicken coop and raise $150 in donations (in advance or pledged the day of) to be released.  The Chicken Coop is held two weeks before the plunge.  Each chicken receives a Chicken Coop long-sleeve t-shirt and entrance into the March 6th Post-Plunge Party.
