Attention students: February is African American History month. Your school library has a display of books and poetry written by African American authors. Please help us celebrate by reading one of these books or poems, writing your information on the paper figure provided, and adding it to our African American Literacy display.
Student Council members are reminded to attend this week’s meeting in 119H, Friday at 7:40 a.m.

Seniors---Financial Aid night will be held today from 3:45 until 6:15 in 206B. Bring your paperwork any time during this time frame for the representative to help you fill out your FAFSA online. This is a must if you need help filling out FAFSA forms. More information is available in the Guidance Office.
Wouldn’t it be nice to win money for having trivia knowledge? Then come to the Softball Team’s Trivia Night, February 25th. See any softball player, Coach Braddy, or Mrs. Flood for tickets.
First Robotics club, the RoboRams will meet every school day for the next 2 weeks to build our robot for the competition. Room 113F, 3:45-6 p.m., Monday through Friday plus some weekends.
Looking for love? Well, you might find it at this year’s Valentine coffeehouse, February 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. in room 119H. Come on out for food, fun, and laughter. $3.00 and your current student ID required for entry. See you there!
Voter Registration for High School students will be held today between 11 am and noon. We will give notices to teachers when their students can come to register. The students will have to bring two forms of identification to register to vote. The students that can register to vote must be 18 years of age on or before March 20, 2012.
This is a reminder to all students that all your school fees should be paid by now. If you are planning to go to the Sweetheart Dance, make sure all books are returned and fees are paid.
Tickets for the Sweetheart Dance, Alice in Wonderland, are on sale after school in the Library all this week. Tickets are $15 each for Hi-Tri members and $17 each for non Hi-Tri members. You may not buy tickets if you are on social suspension or have a school debt.
If you need help finding a prom dress please see Mrs. Renth in 118H before the end of the week. This opportunity is limited and time is running out.
There are still class rings and letter jackets in the Main Office. If you owe a balance you will need to pay before you get your ring or jacket. Make checks payable to Balfour.
Attention all boys interested in participating in track and field: Workouts have begun for a successful season and we have a place for you. The team meets daily in the locker room located at the track. Warm up begins promptly at 3:55. Any questions contact Coach Turner. Go Rams!!
Girls who are interested in track should come to the locker room at the track to sign up and start practice.
Say “Be My Valentine” with a cake pop. FCCLA is selling cake pops in H lobby through tomorrow, during the last 20 minutes of lunch and after school. They are $1 each and will be delivered February 14 during 2nd hour.
Attention sophomores and juniors who signed up for AP American History: There is a mandatory meeting today, in Mrs. Black’s room, 105G, immediately after school. If you do not attend this meeting you will not be allowed to take AP American History.
Attention: Seniors! Project Graduation is in need of help raising funds. We are currently having a Pampered Chef fundraiser the entire month of February. We are also hosting a Mary Kay fundraiser now until February 14th. Seniors we need you and your parents to help with these fundraisers. Please pick up the information on how to sell these products both online and in person. We would like you to send an email out to all of your contacts. Please come to Mrs. Flood or Mrs. Richardson to get your information. Thank you!
Don’t forget to order your copy of the 2012 Vernois yearbook. Order yours today in room 122H. Vernois 2012 “Strange” is $70.00. Orders are due by March 1.
SADD will meet tomorrow during lunch in Ms. Stowers's room, 206B.
All current NHS members should meet in Mrs. Davis's room (C201) during the last half of lunch today.
Attention students who signed up to participate in the Strive program, our next Strive meeting will be tomorrow during 3rd period in the Cafeteria Annex. Please report directly the cafeteria annex after your 2nd hour class and attendance will then be taken and be reported. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Allen in the Guidance Office or Mrs. Renth in room 118H.
Attention Anyone Interested in Baseball: There will be an open gym tonight in L Building from 7:30-9:00. Tryouts begin February 27.
Attention FBLA members: Just a reminder that for FBLA week, today is Business Attire Day. You should be Dressed For Success. We will take our FBLA group picture for the yearbook immediately after school. Please meet in Room 200F.
