2012 FBLA State Conference

Fourteen Future Business Leaders of America members and 2 advisers attended the 63rd Illinois Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel in Decatur, Illinois on Friday and Saturday, March 30-31. Over 1,300 members, advisers, and guests from 70 Illinois FBLA chapters were registered for the conference. The two-day state conference included activities in personal development, business and leadership training, election of 2012-2013 state officers, and competitive events.
 

During the awards program at the conference MVTHS members won the following individual and Team events: Wyatt Beaty (Economics, 6th place), Kayla Burk (Digital Video Production, 9th place), Tyson Hill (Accounting II, 9th place), Annie Jones (Digital Video Production, 9th place), Tyler Knutson (Emerging Business Issues, 3rd place), Daniel Morrison (Business Communications, 8th place), Matthew Stanley (Web Site Design, 4th place), Jacob Stern (Emerging Business Issues, 3rd place), Blake Stricklin (Job Interview, 7th place), Marissa Uhls (Digital Video Production, 9th place), and Jordan Williamson (Client Service, 8th place). Other FBLA members in attendance were Rachel Burns (Accounting I), Aaron Martin (Business Law), and Katie Walls (Personal Finance). Advisers attending the conference were Ms. Hayes and Ms. Koester.
 

Jacob Stern was elected the 2012-2013 Illinois State FBLA president. He will serve on the 2012-2013 Illinois FBLA Executive Council and his advisers will serve on the Board of Directors.
