Strategic Planning Committee
Working on new goals...
On Tuesday, July 22, 2008, the Mt. Vernon Township HSD Board of Education began the process of developing new goals for the district. A “Strategic Planning Committee” was established
consisting of the Board, administration, teachers, students and community members. The committee met with a representative of the Illinois Association of School Boards, Dean Langdon. Mr. Langdon led the group through a brainstorming session to identify values and beliefs for education. A sub-committee was appointed to work on a “draft” mission statement for the next meeting August 12.
On Tuesday, August 12 Mr. Dirks will lead the group through a brainstorming session to determine strengths and weaknesses. A mission statement and goals should materialize.
