This spring another outstanding class of young people will graduate from Mt. Vernon Township High School. Project Graduation will provide a safe, chaperoned alcohol, drug-free event for the senior class to celebrate their successful completion of high school. To make this event possible, monetary contributions are needed to finance the transportation, facility rental, entertainment, food and prizes. Saturday, February 22, 2010, students from Mt. Vernon Area Vocational Center’s SkillsUSA chapter traveled to Southwestern Illinois College in Granite City to compete in the Regional qualifying examination for Illinois SkillsUSA. The students competed in a total of ten competitions and qualified eight students in seven of the competitions. These eight students will represent Mt.
