Eight Mt. Vernon AVC HOSA members
Qualify for Nationals in Orlando Florida...
Members of Mt. Vernon Area Vocational Center’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) competed at the 32nd Annual Illinois HOSA state competition. Students from around the state of Illinois competed in various health care events including health science, health professions, emergency preparedness, leadership, and teamwork events.

Location: Decatur Conference Center Hotel, Decatur, Illinois
In each event, the top 10 competitors were recognized with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places qualifying for the National HOSA Conference in Orlando, Florida. MVTHS AVC HOSA is proud to name the following members for their achievements during this year’s state competition:

Other students competing included: Emmalee Jones, Keatyn Kujawa, Phillip O'Dell (Webber HS), Arianna Poorman (Woodlawn HS), and Michelle Boswell (Woodlawn HS).
In addition to the competition, Jessica Morgan and Leah Sherman represented MVTHS AVC HOSA as voting delegates and Phillip O’Dell (Webber HS) was a member of the courtesy corps and carried our chapter flag during the opening ceremony.
