Committees: School Improve

Story image 1

-----

Quality Assurance and Improvement planning is a partnership between the Illinois State Board of Education and the more than 4,000 schools across the state. It provides an opportunity to improve student learning, to increase the involvement of our stakeholders in education, and to institute an accurate account of student progress and achievement throughout Illinois. The processcontributes to the development of a learning-focused accountability and quality assurance system which has many benefits:

  • increased student achievement by helping all public schools in Illinois focus on their primary mission: teaching and learning;
  • increased student success by providing a means for sharing effective educational practices through collaboration with teams of practitioners;
  • a realistic means for involving the wider community in K-12 education, particularly parents and community-based organizations, and the business community through their involvement in the review process;
  • improved accountability, resulting in increased public confidence in, and support for public schools.
