The School Improvement Team met on December 13, 2007 to begin working on the districts school improvement plan. The team began working on data and analysis. The last three years of Mt. Vernon Township High School’s School Report Cards were distributed to all members so that each member could study them and draw conclusions. Parental Involvement was also discussed. It is so important to have the parents and guardians support their child’s education. The committee discussed factors that affect the extent that parents are involved at school and why it may differ from grade schools.

At the next meeting the committee will continue to look at the data and some of the attributes and challenges that face our school. The team will also begin to develop an action plan for the school. If anyone is interested in participating on this committee please contact Tammy Beckham at 246-5916.
