In order to achieve its stated purpose, the committee performs the following functions:
- encourages the integration of technology equipment and software into all areas.
- strives to improve teaching and learning through appropriate uses of technology.
- evaluates emerging technologies.
- promotes academically useful technological innovation.
- guides strategic investments in educational technology.
- discusses information on new technologies and makes recommendations.
- provides user and system-level perspectives to administrative units that create, license, or support educational technology.
- reviews and comments on campus and system-wide educational technology initiatives, policies, procedures, and proposals.
- maintains liaison with the community to provide a forum for the expression of views and ideas concerning technology services, facilities, and needs.
- makes recommendations that may be incorporated into the district’s handbook and technology plan.
- maintains relationships with other committees that deal with technology-related issues.
