In order to achieve its stated purpose, the committee performs the following functions:

encourages the integration of technology equipment and software into all areas.
strives to improve teaching and learning through appropriate uses of technology.
evaluates emerging technologies.
promotes academically useful technological innovation.
guides strategic investments in educational technology.
discusses information on new technologies and makes recommendations.
provides user and system-level perspectives to administrative units that create, license, or support educational technology.
reviews and comments on campus and system-wide educational technology initiatives, policies, procedures, and proposals.
maintains liaison with the community to provide a forum for the expression of views and ideas concerning technology services, facilities, and needs.
makes recommendations that may be incorporated into the district’s handbook and technology plan.
maintains relationships with other committees that deal with technology-related issues.
