Parent Involvement

Even though society has changed over the years, one thing has remained constant. The more a parent or guardian is involved in a child’s education, the better a child does in school.

Public Law 97-35 provides that parents of students who receive Title I services have a right and a responsibility to be involved in the planning, development, and operation of the school district’s Title I program.

Mt. Vernon Township High School goes beyond that law and invites every parent/guardian to become actively involved. Involvement means more than attending school functions. We would like to encourage every parent/guardian to join the Parent Connection group. Membership will afford you the opportunity to express your views and to offer suggestions for improving the school and its curriculum at various times throughout the school year.

You will have the opportunity to become a member of the Parent Connection group during the registration process. Remember, your involvement in your school benefits your child’s education!
