Dear Mt. Vernon Township High School Supporters and Alumni,

It is a pleasure to report to you that the Mount Vernon Township High School Foundation is entering its seventh year of promoting academic achievement at Mt. Vernon Township High School.  Due to the generosity of many individuals and organizations the Foundation has experienced much success.  This year the Foundation purchased and installed a Principles of Engineering Lab at a total project cost of $17,500.  We also awarded several teacher grants for creative classroom ideas totaling approximately $9,000.

The Foundation board members are busy planning a variety of fundraising activities including our annual June golf scramble and a pork chop luncheon.  This fall we are excited to host the Third Annual Celebrating Success – Distinguished Alumni Dinner.  Last year a great crowd attended the dinner to celebrate our sixth year of successful fundraising for the Foundation and honor a group of MVTHS graduates who have risen to the top of their career field.

As we are all aware the economy has created a hardship for school funding in Illinois. Teachers have been laid off and teacher supply lists have been cut due to reduced funding from the state.  Foundation board members are working harder now than ever to raise the funds to provide the students at MVTHS with the best in learning opportunities.

You can help the Foundation continue to make a difference at MVTHS by making a contribution to the Foundation.  Since the foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization your donation will be tax deductible.  Donations from you or your organization can be in-kind contributions as well as monetary contributions. Including the Foundation in your estate planning decisions is another way in which you can support the Foundation.

Thank you for any contribution you may be able to give to support our students and our community.

Sincerely,
Matthew Flanigan, President, Mt. Vernon Township High School Foundation
