Welcome to Mt. Vernon Township H.S.
Activity Pages

As you can see, the Mt. Vernon Township High School’s activity pages structure is nearly complete.

The next step will involve interested sponsors receiving some training. It is hoped we can have sponsors trained and ready to update/maintain their individual activity pages by early April. By this date, each sponsor should know how to update and maintain their respective activity pages.

Activity pages will help to keep participants and parents up to date and informed about the group, members, programs, sponsors and how to contact them. The activity are listed in alphabetical order.

You are invited to take a quick look at the structure now, and then return sometime around the middle of April; hopefully you’ll notice the changes, the new features, etc.

The organizations or activities you choose to become involved in can say a lot about you. Participating in organizations and activities takes a lot of time, especially when you are already busy with your studies. Extracurricular participation requires you to effectively manage your time and devote yourself, physically and mentally, to an organization or activity.

It's not about being involved in an organization or activity so that you have something to put down on your college applications or resumes, but that you learn and gain valuable experiences. Participate in activities that truly interest you. Or if you try something new, your involvement in an extracurricular activity may also lead you to new interests that may change or influence your future career path.

Others will take notice when you demonstrate long-term commitment and a high level of involvement, so the quality of your involvement is much more important than quantity. After you've found an interesting organization or activity and have dedicated a substantial amount of time, you should consider pursuing an officer position to understand the value of responsibility and leadership.
