Brown Awarded by State Board of Education!

"I'm pretty sure she's the first person from Mount Vernon High
School to be nominated and win an award," stated Mrs. Holt when
asked about the prestigious award MVTHS school treasurer Mrs. V.
Jane Brown received last month. Holt, who nominated Brown to the
Those Who Excel education awards program, said she did so because
she felt, "she deserved recognition for her support of programs
here at the school."
The State Board annually awards three levels of recognition: The
Award of Excellence, the Award of Merit and the Award of
Recognition. An awards banquet was held on October 24th at the Pere
Marquette Hotel in Peoria where Mrs. Brown received the Award of
Recognition for her exceedingly exceptional dedication. A generous
congratulations and thanks are extended from the student body in
response to Mrs. Brown’s achievement.
