Communication is one of District 201’s most important priorities. From newsletters and flyers, to our “new” website, school newspaper and e-mail communication, to the local newspapers and cable programs, we use a variety of media to keep everyone informed about important information, news and events in our schools. Here are some of the many ways you can keep up-to-date!
Student/Parent Handbook
Keep your Student/Parent Handbook in a convenient place all school
year for easy reference to important district and school
information as you need it. The Student/Parent Handbook is a
complete source of student information on topics ranging from
registration requirements to basic school information to student
guidelines.
The Ram o Gram
This newsletter mailed monthly to all student households includes
information and feature articles about topics of interest, as well
as school programs and events.
Mr. Milt’s Weekly Calendar
Mr. Milt’s Weekly, featured on this web site, keeps families
up-to-date each week with current school information and
events.
Flyers
Promotional flyers are distributed in the schools and posted on our
website to advertise special events such as the parent information
meetings, school events, and more.
Mailings
From time to time, parents can expect to receive a number of
mailings each school year including postcards with
registration/residency reminders, students’ class assignments, and
other important notices.
New Student and Visitor Information
Tours of Mt. Vernon Township High School can be arranged. The
district works closely with new families to assure that the
transition into a new school system will be smooth and the children
will feel as comfortable as possible.
Web Site
This web site contains a wealth of information about District #201.
In addition to school information, staff directories, and Board of
Education information, a variety of links are available for student
help and resources. Also, check the staff directories for links to
a number of web pages maintained by individual teachers who post
their class requirements and homework.
E-Mail News
If you have an email address, you can subscribe to our District
#201 e-mail “list serv” to receive important news and information
on a regular basis. To subscribe, click on the link from the
mvths.org website for full details. Four lists have been created
including: High School News, Athletic News, Vernois Publications
and Mt. Vernon AVC. Parents can subscribe to any number of these
lists to receive information at your home and/or office e-mail
addresses.
Voice Mail
The district’s automated voice mail telephone system allows parents
to leave messages for teachers 24 hours a day.
Newspapers/Cable Television/Radio
The district provides regular updates to local media about the
latest news developments, student accomplishments and interesting
programs in our schools.
