4th Place -- Class 3A State Tourney

Mt Vernon Rams baseball team pose with their 4th Place Trophy from the Class 3A State Tourney. Congratulations on making history with a school record 31 wins, State Tourney hardware (the first-ever in baseball) and the first BOYS Team Sport State Trophy since 1954 for Mt Vernon. What a ride, great job! -- The Rams (31-8-1) are in the Final Four for the 1st time in school history after defeating Bloomington 6-1! MVTHS Students Discover Fractal Geometry

Fractals are one of the newest forms of math available to students. They were developed in 1975. The simple definition of fractal would be as follows: a repeating geometric pattern. Fractals can be used in computer modeling and structures that do not have simple geometric shapes such as clouds, mountains, and coastlines. Towards the end of the school year, geometry teacher Dustin Foster allowed his students to work together to design some fractals of their own.
