Robo Rams bound for VEX World Championships

Two RoboRams teams are headed for the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

This is the first time that an Illinois team, outside of Chicago, has qualified for Worlds.

Vex World Championships is billed as the largest robotics competition in the world. Our teams will compete against 800 teams from over 40 countries.  Let's Go RAMS!

Team Red Bull, (41870A), (pictured on the right) with captain Weston Riggan, fabricator Gabe Luttenin, and strategist Cassie White, reached the finals to secure their World Championship berth. They head to Dallas with a 20-2 record. Along the way, they won Excellence Awards at the Mount Vernon, Decatur, and Collinsville tournaments. The Excellence award is the highest award given at each competition and it encompasses engineering notebook judging, an interview, and an evaluation of robot skills.

The Shaq's, (team 41870B), led by captain Ryan Bendersky and programmer Izak Wisneski has also qualified for Worlds by reaching the semifinals of the Illinois State Championship.  They head to Dallas with a 16-7 record while being awarded as Tournament Finalist at Collinsville.
