Saturday, Feb. 3rd, three new MVTHS Alumnus were inducted into the Mt. Vernon Township High School Foundation's roll of Distinguished Alumni.
The Honorable David Overstreet, (Class of 1984), Mrs. Norma Colwell (Class of 1953), and Dr. Brendan Clark (Class of 1995) were honored at the Alumni Foundation's annual awards dinner. The event was held at Cedarhurst Arts Center.
Also, during the event, financial awards were announced for seven MVTHS teachers totaling more than $9400. The money goes to materials to support those teacher's classroom efforts.
Teachers receiving awards this year include:
Ashlee Adams, Tori Hartman, Shaylynn Hubbard, Amanda Huge, Matt Pool, Mark Goodheart, Rob Knutson, David Mateyka, & Dr. Jamey VanZandt.
The foundation also announced a grant of $20,000 to support district-wide efforts to upgrade classroom student engagement technologies.
