The MVTHS DaboShobo Robotics team

The MVTHS Varsity robotics team, Dabo Shobo, has advanced to the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) State Competition.

Robotics Lead and Sponsor, Mr. Dustin Foster, spread the news this weekend.

"This year, Roborams competed in FTC, a division where students design, build, and program robots for head-to-head strategic challenges. It was a year of total transformation: with all new parts, a new coding language, and four teams instead of one, these talented students were effectively rookies.

They rose to the challenge, creating a consistent, robust machine that could score buckets from anywhere on the field. Thanks to a well-programmed and excellently driven robot, they qualified 5th out of 31 teams and reached the quarterfinals. Most importantly, their community impact—specifically volunteering for outreach events like FIRST Lego League—won them the Sustain Award, securing the points they needed to qualify for State. Competition will be held in Dekalb March 6th & 7th, where they will make their bid for the World Championship.

Congratulations to the entire team!
