Dear MVTHS Families:
It is with deep sadness that I inform you about a tragic loss to our school community. The students, staff, and families of Mt. Vernon Township High School received news this morning that one of our students had passed away.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students. Our attention goes to pulling together as a community and doing everything we can for the family and fellow students.
MVTHS has a Crisis Response Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as these. There will be counselors and social workers available to meet with students as needed. If you have a student or know a student who is in need of additional support related to this loss, please encourage them to contact MVTHS Student Services at (618) 246-1730 or stop by in person.
